Tudor Day - Sept 2011
The axes swung and the odd head rolled as the children got hands-on experience of living in Tudor times, They covered Timelines, the 6 wives of Henry VIII, Mary Queen of Scots, music, medicine and weapons to name but a few of the topics.
Anne Boleyn together with Katherine Howard didn't even make it through to lunch time, which was a shame, the afternoon session was great; but we stitched them back together before 'home time'. !!
Children handled Holy Relics with reverence and learnt the true story behind each one. The ever popular fire lighting really did have sparks flying. Games were played and the dancing proved very popular, even with the boys.
The highlight of the afternoon was the 6 wives rendition of Divorced, Behead and Died and the ever popular quiz.
Two great days, great kids who's behavior was a credit to themselves, their teachers and their school.
On our part it was a joy to see children being taught by such enthusiatic staff.
Photo's and feedback are awaited.
