Tudors
Another age of upheaval and troubled times.
From the wives of Henry the 8th to the dissolution of the monasteries. Shakespeare and the Spanish Armada. A time of exploration, adventure and black and white timber buildings.
Great feasts for the few and a hard life of poverty for many. Ale, and later beer, was not only 'liquid food' but often the cleanest and safest thing to drink.
As with all previous periods in history it was a time when public health and the lack of sanitation really does make us wonder how people lived under those conditions. We try to recreate daily life in many ways and apprenticeships as a 'gong scourer', 'fuller' or 'groom of the stool' can be arranged.

An age of plots and intrigue when choosing the wrong side could certainly give you a headache that couldn't be cured by the herbal medicines of the day. Treason, treachery and traitors, from the Tudor dynasty that would make a modern TV soap opera look like an episode of Play School.
